The time is upon us where Young Republicans from all regions of Tennessee gather at the State Capitol in Nashville to once again re-charter our respective county organizations, reaffirm the ageless principles that have made our party grand, and foremost, mutually pledge our allegiance to this God-blessed country we proudly call America. With new clubs preparing to charter, several important items on the agenda to discuss/vote on, an inspiring keynote speaker, and reports from various representatives of other organizations, this year’s Re-chartering is going to be an exciting event. We will also have an opportunity to meet several candidates for offices within the State Federation whose elections will be held later this year. So, mark your calendar for Saturday, March 23rd, at 10:30 AM CST, and come prepared to be inspired!
While the result of last year’s presidential election left the majority of freedom loving Americans fearful that we will be forced to endure a repeat (and possibly worse) of President Obama’s socialistic agenda, that fear should only compel us to be more involved than ever before. Now is NOT the time for political cowardice or the faint of heart. Now is the time for young people of all walks of life to stand united in our opposition to any and all assaults against our freedom, “both foreign & domestic”, and in our declaration that the “self evident truths” that made our country great can & will make it great again if “We the People” are willing to “sign our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor” to revive the flame of patriotism in our land.
Having spoken this past year at twenty four dinners & more than one hundred political events all across our great state, I believe that I can say with confidence that young people are finally beginning to understand that the future is ours to mold, and mold it we must. The future is bright for all Young Republicans who seize it! Whether you recognize the necessity to make a difference now or not, I encourage you to attend Re-chartering and bring some friends with you. The effort you put forth to be there will be worth it. Hopefully we will all be encouraged to lift the Torch of Freedom higher than it’s ever been lifted before. May God bless you, and may He ever continue to bless the United States of America!
